A friend has asked how to find out about a relative born in the first half of 20th century - possibly spent some time in prison. Which records if any can I point her in the direction of? I have only worked with pre 1901 stuff so am no help, but feel sure someone on here would know! thanks |

What is she trying to find out? Does she know where he used to live/who he married - what does she know and then work from that. If it is that recent, she cant hope to get any prison records - may be if the crime was serious enough, a newspaper report? |
