Hi Angela, Looking at the 1861, the rest of the family are British subjects which suggests to me that they were born abroad. I think I have found Edward married and he is indexed as born in Surinam. Perhaps this engineering family travelled the world a lot and that is why they aren't showing up in the other census years. I've had a look for various members of the family in the different years but can't find them either. Not sure where you look next. Good luck, Janice

Hi Janice Oh dont know where that place is !!!!!!!! I have found William & Susannah Webb throughout the census's till they die and also John Webb but cant find James. I did find Edward still living at home on the 1871 census but James wasn't there!!!!!!! Edward also dissapears. So I havnt got a clue I did follow John & William (james brothers and found thier marriages and what children they had also thier parents right up untill death) but them 2 im stumped.

Angela As his brother joined the forces, there's always the chance he did too which could explain why he's missing in the later census's, although not the 1871, a bit too young then!!!! Myfanwy

Right this is also weird cant find John or Williams births !!!!!!!! think ive found James birth ap may jun 1860 brentford vol 3a page 45 but would he have likely have been christened at Weybridge? is it close? cus on the 1861 census it says he was born at Weybridge I also have his baptism off the LDS site (which is an extracted record) as being 21st Dec 1860 Weybridge Surrey parents William Webb & Susannah. So whats going on with em??? (now totally confused lol)
