i have tried to upload my gr tree using gedcom several times , when i try to open it in my documents it says error not decoded does anyone know why this is happening lorraine

hi i sent to my documents on computer but it will not open lorraine

You can't open a GEDCOM file without a family tree programme or some other programme that is specially designed to read GEDCOM's. Sam x

Thanks sam i do have a family tree disc if i install that on my computer can i upload it to that know i sound stupid but im not up on computers. lorraine

If you install your family tree software, then go to FILE and OPEN, you should get the option to browse to the file you have already saved and it should open. Sam x
