Signed: R.W. Price. 1848 March 24 LETTER: Richard Griffith, town crier, tenant of Captain Lewis Owen at Castle Street, Caernarfon to Lord [Newborough], offering himself for the position of Inspector of Weights and Measures following the death of Mr. Thomas Rowlands on Wednesday morning after a long illness. 1834 INDICTMENT: that Elizabeth Pugh, late of pa. Towyn and Catherine Pugh, late of pa. Llanegryn, stole items valued at £1.0.9. from Edward Lloyd, William Watkin Edward Wynne and Richard Burton Phillipson; £1.0.9. from William Wynne dec’d; 7s. each from Richard Burton Phillipson and Susan Jones. At the foot: Both pleaded not guilty. Sentence upon Elizabeth Pugh to be confined for 2 years in Dolgellau Gaol. Sentence upon Catherine Pugh that she be transported for 7 years. On dorse: Witnesses; Susan Jones, Hugh Lewis, Evan Rowlands, Jacob Rees, Francis Jonas, Edward Richard, Edward Owen, Francis Hallowes. True Bill.
