Service Numbers are a requirement and if you are unable to find that in any of his old papers have you seen his marriage certificate or births of any of the children whilst he was serving - the service number may show - just a tip which may help you. RAF Innsworth charge £30 for a search based on the number. |

HI your 1st step should be to ask family members if they have his service papers, my nan still has my grandads papers from when he left the services, this will list all the places he served in, and any medals awarded, all servicmen were given discharge papers lorraine |

I pretty sure my grandad served in WW2 but my dad does not know anything about it as it was never spoke about. can anybody give me any tips on how i can find out what he did? Sharon |
