Could this be the same Thomas Rudge?

Hi everyone. I have recently visited the grave of my Thomas Rudge where it said on the headstone that he was born 21st May 1828. So then I have been trying to find him in the IGI. I know from the census that he was born in Birmingham. I have found a Thomas Rudge in the IGI born 18 May 1828, Christened 16 Jun 1828, Saint Martin Birmingham. Do you think there is any chance this could be the same Thomas? Does it often happen that there can be differences in the birth dates? Or is it just wishful thinking? What do you think? Mandy XX

Mandy Not sure if birth dates are verified before adding to a headstone? I know age at death is usually as per whomever registers the death, so it could well be one in the same person....... Elly

Thank you Elly. I am hopeful that this is him as it gives his parents names. I don't like going on gut feeling tho, but I suppose sometimes you have to. Mandy xx

If you got his marriage certificate then you would know his father's name and that would verify his parents on IGI. That is if you know the bride's name so you don't get the wrong one if you understand what I mean. Susan

Thank Susan, I think I will have to send for marriage cert. Was trying not to as funds a bit tight at mo, but sometimes it's the only way. Mandy xx
