Hi Keith Yes I have found them in 1851, Henry not with then so i am assuming he was married to his 1st wife then. But I can't find them. George is there with his family and his occupation is now silk worker. Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I suspect they are one and the same, perhaps he got promoted between the 1841 census and the 1854 marriage, have you found them on the 1851?

Hi Has anyone any suggestions. I have the Marriage certificate for my Gt x 3 Grandfather dated 1854.they were married at The parish church in Astbury Cheshire Here are the details: Henry Foden 28 Widower Occupation Silk Drefter Father: George Foden Overlooker Mary Ann Sherratt 25 spinster Father: George Kilminster Sherratt Weaver On the 1841 Census there is only one George Foden born c1791 with a son Henry born c1826. but it states he is a Silk Weaver, how can I be sure it’s the right one?
