Hi Lairy-Fairy, Unfortunately, unlike the UK there are no online SA records for bmd indexes. It's a catch 22 situation in trying to order certs as you will need to know the death date for eg before ordering from The Home Affairs Dept. However, you can search the SA National Archives databases for the different regions and provinces for notifications of estate papers which sometimes give an indication of death date. Just google national archives south africa and website will come up. Hope this helps. Liesele |
