Hi A similar thing happened to me, but I have to say when I contacted Genes (it took a couple of e-mails) they did make me 'the owner of my tree'. I know deleting and uploading the tree again does not work because it leaves the anchor person there, ie you - who is not you really. I would try again with Genes, I do think the first e-mail they probably didn't understand what I was trying to say, but they got there in the end. Regards Gail |

Hi ! Can anynoe help? When I first started to post my tree ...many many moons ago! I started with my grandmother as the ' anchor pin ' The system now obviously thinks that I am a woman born in 1897 ! That does not worry me. However I recently discovered that my great grandfather was not in fact the son of my gr gr grandfather but the son of someone he thought was his sister ! To cut a long story short I then proceeded delete and re enter tens and tens of entries .BUT when I got to the crux i.e my grandfather, I found that I was not permitted to remove his incorrect entry because I could not ' delete myself ' i e his wife from my tree! Can anyone understand what I have tried to explain rather clumsily AND, if you can ,can you please help? I did contact GR for help , but they ignored me ! Confuzzled Carolyn |
