Hi, i keep getting people asking to veiw my tree, like you do. But i dont know anything about who they are. I kind of feel that i may be showing my tree to some one who has nothing to do with. And so i dont want to give access. I am looking for a polite way of saying 'you aint looking at my tree till i know who ya are an what ya want' Any help?? Steve. |

I uaually say something along the lines of Before I open my tree to you, would you mind telling me which part of my tree you wish to see, and how you believe we may be connected? If they are genuine they will get back to you.... |

I think the general concensus is to ask if they have a particular name that they think you may share and if there are any dates that you could check. If it's a yes just say that you are willing to share info. At least that way you get an idea of whether they are genuine or not. Hope that helps a bit. Lin. |
