Has anyone got access to the records of the Nottingham Union Workhouse? I am looking for any records for Joseph Watts born Loughborough abt 1848 who was an inmate of this workhouse in the 1861 census At the moment I am at the brick wall stage so any snippet of info would be great Please can you help? Thanks Molly |

Dear Molly Try www(.)workhouses(.)org(.)uk - remove brackets. I googled Nottingham workhouse. There is a list of inmates for 1881 but no Watts on the list. There is also a listing for where records are held for other years. Best wishes Maria |

Thanks Maria I have contacted the Nottingham Archives via the link you gave me and am hoping to hear from them. I have found him in 1851 and 1871 onwards, but wondered how he ended up in the workhouse in 1861. I thought admission and discharge details might tell me Thanks for your help Molly |
