Marriage Cert. - What will it provide?

Hi I was wondering what information a marriage cert. will provide, looking at getting one from the late 1800's. |

It will give:- Date and place of marriage Name of bride and groom Age of bride and groom (might just say full age if over 21) Occupation of groom (and maybe bride) Father's name and occupation of bride and groom Who conducted the service Names of witnesses. Kath. x |

For a really full description of what all of those headings mean, take a look at: http://home*clara*net/dixons/Certificates/marriages.htm (replace * with .) This site also provides similar information for birth and death certificates - it's really quite interesting, even if you're already familiar with certs. HTH - Tim |
