FTM (Family Tree Maker) comes in two versions. 2005 and 2006. Morrisons are selling the WDYTYA packaged standard version for £5.99. If it has 'new version' it is 2006, if it hasn't it will likely be a 2005 version. The differences are minimal, both have the 'merge thingy', but it maybe doesn't do what you think. If you merge an Ancestry source (ie census) it doesn't put the household or anything into any notes, it just records Ancestry as the source of your info. To record the household as per the results screen you would have to copy the details, either by typing or by c&p. If you want to see a couple of examples of webpages produced from FTM and the PDF books published on the sites pm your e-mail addy to me and i will send the links. (member trees so i wouldn't post the links on here). Glen |

Rose You need to but a star or brackets in front of the *co.uk or *com as GR don't like us posting web addresses on the boards. |

but has anyone got this - http://www.my-history.co.uk/acatalog/Family_Tree_Maker_2006.html#aWDS6 It looks fantastic value at £10 and with 90 days' free subs to Ancestry seems unmissable. But is it too good to be true? Does it have this 'ere merge thingy with Ancestry? This will be my first tree making software so no idea what to expect. All views appreciated. cheers Rose |

I know there have been a lot of questions about the different family tree making programs lately (something to do with Christmas maybe lol?), |
