I am trying to trace the birth of Evelyn Wright born 26 March 1896. I have the original small birth certificate showing her name and date of birth but the registration district hasn't been filled in. My mother in law has always insisted that her mother Evelyn was born in Watford but the 1901 census gives her birthplace as Shepherds Bush. The only entry I can find for an evelyn wright is in Fulham. does anyone know if Fulham covered/covers Shepherds Bush? Many thanks in advance................Pam

Shepherds Bush is W London and Fulham is SW London. What is the address on the certificate I will look it up in my old A-Z. Irene

Hello Irene, Thanks for the reply. All I have is the original small certificate from 1896. This only gives the name of the child and the date of birth and registration. The space for place of birth has not been filled in for some reason. I have another 2 original bc's for the late 1890's for other births and in both cases the district of birth is given so I can only assume that in Evelyn's case the registrar forgot to fill the certificate properly. The certificate also gives the Entry number and Register Book number but that isn't much help to me! Pam

Was there any other children born to the family- you could see where their birth was registered. Irene

Hi I live just up the road from Shepherds Bush and I am sure it comes under the district of Hammersmith and Fulham. Julie
