Is there any significance to putting male or female instead of a name? Could they have been stillborn or something? |

It means that the child did not have a name at the time of registration. It is possible it was a stillbirth but does not necessarily mean this. Wendy |

A name could be added to the registration entry at a later date, but were not recorded in the index. Regards Gail |

Stillbirths are not recorded in the Register of Births. The child may have died shortly after birth, or the parents may simply not have decided on a name. OC |
