Can anyone help for the second time today in transcribing 1861 Census for Elizabeth Magie b. 1858. Trying to work out what is says under relationship to head. It says on the transcribed page 'lodger' but I dont think this is what it says? Source Citation: Class: RG9; Piece: 889; Folio: 103; Page: 14; GSU roll: 542717. Thank you. |

Cant work out the first letter, if a B (doubt it though) the rest looks like it could be Boarder |

I thought the same as Keith, maybe its a the genuine mix up, started to write Lodger but was meant to write boarder and didn't correct the L to B |

I looks like a hybrid word of lodger & boarder - as if they started to write lodger & changed their mind?? Higher in the column they use Lodger & certainly not written the same for Elizabeth Magie......... |
