Does anybody have any gamekeepers in their family and have you found that they travelled around a lot? I've got one (John Siggs) who was born in Essex, got married near York in 1847, was away from home (no idea where) in 1851, lived in Anglesey in 1861 and died of TB in Retford, Notts, in 1867. Two of his sons and one of his grandsons went on to follow the profession. According to his marriage certificate, his father (another John) was also a gamekeeper.

I do have a kennelman ( my G/Grandfather) and he was born in Alderminster, moved to the Scottish borders, Northumberland, France, Buckinghamshire and back to Northumberland and wherever else in between!!
