Think I would probably put Newchurch, Rawtenstall. OC

I have an ancestor who was born Newchurch in Lancs. This town's name has now changed to Rawtenstall and am looking for advice on how I would enter this on tree. Do I enter the old or new name. Any suggestions?. Thanks in advance. Liesele
