Could someone tell me if Burness, Suffolk is anywhere near Tuddenham, Suffolk. I am showing the same family with these two different Birth places on the Census. I am having a hard time finding Burness on the maps. Thanks for letting me know. Shiela |

Shiela I just put Burness to Tuddenham into AA Routeplanner to see how many miles apart they are and it came back 'your start & end locations are the same' Georgina. |

Hi Georgina: So that means they are the same place? Do you think they are small villages / towns side by side? Thanks for answering Georgina. Shiela |

Shiela I have just looked up Tuddenham on Google & today it only has 200 inhabitants so I would think they were little Hamlets next to each other. Someone from the area may be able to help with more info later on today. No sign of Burness. Georgina. |

Good morning Sheila, I have an A-Z of East Anglia dated 2005 and that agrees with Georgina , no Burness. But there are 2 X Tuddenham, one just NE of Ipswich, the other NW of Bury St Edmunds towards Mildenhall. Sorry to add to your confusion, Derek in France |

Shiela I have just done a search in Ancestry's census collection just putting in birthplace Burness Suffolk. A few come up in each census. I have looked at several images and in each case it looks like Bures. Maureen |

Hi Sheila i am Ipswich born and bred and have never heard of Burness! I know Tuddenham very well its very pretty and the only thing i can think is maybe Burness is an old Hamlett ,you might also want to look for Tuddenham St Martin as thats it offical name now altough i dont know if it was years ago. Hope this helps Danni |
