Thanks Peppa. I have checked and like you can't find him. He must have kept his lights under a bushel...By 1901 he was in Manchester for a few years. Liz |

Have paid for research by Liverpool Records Office to check out C of E marriage for Joseph James Ronnan in areas where he and wife lived. No result. Not on BMD index online with Ancestry. Have asked researcher to look at civil marriage index for Liverpool but doubt this will bring anything new... Joseph was a hairdresser and was soon running his own business in West Derby. His address in 1891 was 2 Farnworth St where he lived with his wife, Martha E Garrity b 1871. He was described as employer then. He had 3 month old daughter, Leah. Want to know his address either when immediately married or before when single to help with search for his marriage details. I want these to verify his father's name and to ensure the family I've traced from 1901 census back to 1841 census is definitely his. Joseph Ronnan was born 25.4.1869 and christened at St Peter's, W. Derby. His surname is wrongly transcribed on census records as Ronnau, Ronnon, etc. Can anyone help? Many thanks. Liz |
