hello all, i am trying to find a record of a marriage in scotland- lanarkshire,,circa 1880, .have been on scotlands people etc but to no avail. on death cert 1891 it says she was married. any ideas ??? thank you ,

hello georgina, james brownlie -not sure yr he was born.although he was alive in 1908 when his son john aged 22 (g grandad) was married, janet mclean- she died in 1891 aged 41 yrs in the hamilton district of scotland. hope this helps thanks for looking stacy

hi georgina, sorry took so long to reply, kids etc !! james brownlie and janet mclean had i believe 6 sons, alexander, gavin,william,john(g,grandad),and donald. on janet mclean death cert - hamilton area, 2.8.1891, aged 41yrs.it says she was married to james brownlie, on john brownlie marriage ( 1908,old monkland) it says janet brownlie, maiden name Mclean, deceased, ,and james brownlie -coalminer. thanks for the reply i hope this helps stacy

Birth cert for one of the children will give date of the marriage. It might be easier to work that way.

hi georgina, thanks for that,but i am sure this is not the family. i have a few certs saved, but not at hand as printer broke, i shall have to look in files and see what i can come up with, cheers stacy
