You can join Ancestry for a month at a time for £9.95, but when you join you will need to make it clear to them it is only for a month. Now you can get a lot of work done in month and cover a lot of records. If you fail to get them to log at one month only then they will charge you per month until you cancel, so keep an eye on it.

Before you go to ancestry's site, Google discount ancestry and like me you may get 10% off! I paid £62.00ish for the year for UK site. Better in your pocket than theirs! ;) Lyn x

I think ancestry is really good but It is worth pointing out that the £70 membership is only for England and Wales if you want the U.S. stuff as well I think it is about £200 a year. It is particularly good with family tree maker as you can link census records. If you join it is worth signing up for the free newsletter. Anne

Ancestry has made research SO much easier, before everything was online we had to go round the records office/FHC and look at the films for BMD and census! Now I am a member, I could not do without it and will certainly renew when due. Keith

Kim De luxe membership is around $70 but this does give you access to everything! Just be aware that sometimes their transcriptions have errors, but if you select soundex when you search you generally get everything ! Shirley
