Lookin for information re Bernard McCourt on 1901 census for Jarrow as Barnett McCourt, apprently born Ireland c1848. He is not on earlier censuses as far as I can tell, so may have been a late immigrant. We have come to the conclusion that the mistake on the census was caused by his having a strong Northern Ireland accent. I have been told that the McCourts came originally from Monaghan which may fit with the accent theory. Does anyone have any ideas where I could go next?# Thanks in anticipation Sheila

Wow Glitter - you've been busy. That's the man in 1901 and it looks as if you have the Freemans marriage as well. Barney the lodger in 1891 will need looking at, if only because he is lodging with Farishes and our Bernard's daughter Catherine married a Farish. Don't think the 1881 entry is right because he doesn't have the right children with him. Something for me to have a go at there, but that still leaves me with the initial question of how I go back.... Cheers Sheila
