Hi, can anyone tell me if there is a site you can access and view the Northern Ireland census? My Partners Grandmother was born and lived in Omagh in northern Ireland in 1906 and I keep hitting a dead end. Any help would be appreciated. Karen.

The only census that still exist for Ireland, the whole island north and south, are the 1901 and 1911. They are not yet available on line, you need to visit Dublin or see if your local LDS Family History Centre has got a copy of the microfilm.

Thanks Paul, much appreciated. It looks like a trip to Ireland is in order. Karen

If you have an address, then the 1901 and 1911 census can be searched by address (but not online). If you subscribe to the rootsweb mailing list for that area, someone may be able to help. There are some Irish research tips threads - I shall give them a nudge for you.

Thanks MM, I do have an address but its after 1911 unfortunately. I traced my family tree no problem in 2003 and got quite far back but they did decend from England. I am really struggling with my partners, even with his Granfathers side and he was born in Sussex. never mind, I will plod on. Thanks again. Karen.
