Just wondering if there was any way that I can copy mutual relatives from someone else's family tree, directly into my own.... in order to save time transferring 50+ relatives individually?

The only way to do it is by using a genealogy sofware programme and importing a GEDCOM file to your software, then merge the GEDCOM into your main file on the software then upload the 'new, larger' file onto here. Get yourself to Morrisons ang get hold of Family Tree Maker (FTM) for £5.99. By using a family tree prog you don't have to rely on an internet connection to view/add/amend your tree, you can backup the files in less than a minute and you have TOTAL control of the information in the file. If you make a contact with another researcher you don't have to reveal your whole tree to them, you can simply e-mail a GEDCOM for a specific part of your tree if you want. If GR/Ancestry/Rootsweb is the only source of your tree spend the £5.99. Don't ever rely on a third party as the only source to keep your tree on. £6 for control of and security of your tree IS money well spent, if you lose your tree info from here (and it has happened before) could you rebuild your tree from the scraps of paper scattered everywhere?

I pulled my tree of here in the end, twice i lost details from it and the hassle of checking what had gone missing and uploading a Gedcom just to repeat the process a few days later wasn't worth it. I was lucky because i used software before the first problem happened and could replace it all here in a few minutes but the question Why should i need to? was never answered by GR. In the end i pulled the whole thing and just use FTM, made my own (free) website with images, photographs, PDF reports for family groups, trees (partial and full) and the whole thing comes up matched to google searches. I can also add things like cousins getting married without having to enter someone twice, create a relationship report and share links with rellies and print books with all the details i want/need in them. I can also upload a book as a PDF document to my homepage in less than a minute. I just make sure i backup the file every two weeks using two discs (called father and son) I use father for the first backup then two weeks later use son, two weeks later use father again etc. That way If a disc gets damaged then i would only lose two weeks worth of 'new' information Glen
