How can I find a burial in Liverpool?

I have a date of death for a relative but I dont know were he is burried. I rang Liverpool direct/council today to see how I go about it. They told me that a search starts at 10 pound then it is another tenner for every cemetry they search. I have tried searching the cemetries on line but they aren't complete so I have had no luck. Does anyone know how I can find a burrial without paying out that much money? Jayne

It would depend on when the burial took place - I will only be here until about 2300, but if you give me a name and a date I'll have a look at the NBI. Anything late will not be on it though.

Hi Everyone Im sorry it has taken me a while to respond but my darn computer is going really slow and then losing connection. Can I ask what is NBI. Thankyou for having a look anyway. I will have a look at the web site that has been suggested. I tried ringing Toxteth Cemetry today but it kept going to fax machine but I will try the others tomorrow. I am sorry I am not putting your names on here to say thankyou individually but I am rushing with my reply just incase my computer switches off again. HA HA I will let you know how I get on Thankyou, Jayne

NBI is the National Burial Index. Ed. 2 is the latest.
