thanks everyone -i know all his daughters left home before getting married-i know they would not talk about him-i know he had a metal plate in his head from war injury-obviously sent him a bit mad and could not have a profession as before-probably have to look in old newspapers for stories-am sure he will be there!!!!-mariex

I have an ancestor who was a Commission Agent. I came to the conclusion it meant 'I'll do anything for money' lol. OC

I would imagine that he organised the sale of goods or services and was paid a commission for what he did. Kath. x

can anyone tell me what a commision agent could be-last job was a billposter journeyman-i think it must be casual worker title-marie
