Through this website - I found an Aunt that I didn't know I had. She went on to tell me about 3 other (half)Brothers that I didn't know about either. I will be having help from my local authority with one Brother who was adopted - as I have his birth certificate now, so can give them birth details. The youngest Brother, well, I was hoping the salvation army family tracing service would be able to help me...as he wasn't adopted but, it seems that the registry office where he was registered at birth had no details of my dad on the birth certificate and so, now they won't help, because I can't prove that he is my brother. Can anybody tell me what to do next......it's so complicated.....I would like to trace him, but don't know how. |

Hi Stella - slow down! Lol! How about, for now, concentrate on finding the brother the authorities are going to help you with and, when you have made contact with him, it will be time to look for the next one - hopefully with your 'found' brother helping. Two heads will be better than one. All the best Victoria |

Hi Stella, How old would they be? If you have full names and so on you could check the electoral roll. I have found loads of people this way. If you want some help let me know. Regards David |

The Salvation Army have very strict tracing rules and I am afraid your case is not one they can take on. You can see why, if you sit and think about it - you could be anyone, mad woman from hell, etc lol. However, there are many other agencies who will help you - the government-run TRACELINE for one - they will trace him and send him a letter on your behalf (but will not put you in touch with him of course). Traceline is not cheap and not quick but it may be all you have. There are other agencies too - put 'ADOPTION' in the seach box on this page and loads of useful threads will appear. I know he wasn't adopted, but the situation is the same. I agree - concentrate on the brother you have found, for now. Let us know how you get on. OC |
