Thanks Mike Looking for a Mary Blythe born around 1877/1878 in Sheepshed. I think I found her thanks to you. I have her wedding certificate and trying to work back up the chain to get her mother's maiden name. Father is John Blythe. Appreciate the help!!! Charles |

Greeting's Again...... Charles Nothing showing up with the resources I have to hand other than Got her on the 81 Census No. 11 Pick Street, Shepshed aged 3. Father John aged 37 Mother Mary ....aged 39. Give me 48 hours I'm due at the Records Office then MIKE. |

Me Again ...... Just had a look at the 1871 Census returns Got John & Mary with eldest Daughter Sarah Anne In St. Mary's Parish Nottingham. living within the household of Ann Bentley WIDOW 53. (indexed as Bensley ) Sarah Ann down as Grand daughter to the head of household which is Ann Bentley / Bensley So this could be the maiden name of Mary wife of John ? MIKE. |

Yes it could .... I have a marriage in Q4 of 1864 between a John Blythe and Mary Bentley in Nottingham. Thanks for that ... I hadn't put 2+2 together. Wow ... just looked at the census return. A ton of useful info there!!! |

BINGO !!!...... St. Botolph Parish Church. Shepshed. Page. 229. Entry No. 2378. In the left hand Margin :- Private Christening No 135. Born 25th. December 1877. Received into the Church 19th. May 1878. and signed :- C.D.R. Then reading Left to right :- February 6th. 1878. MARY Daughter of John & Mary Blythe. Pick Street, Shepshed. Father's Occupation : - Frame Work Knitter. C.D. Rae. Curate. So looks like Mary was a poorly Child at birth then ? Hence Private Christening ...... Then got better by May .....:0))) MIKE. |
