Spam & PC Probs - BE ALERT!

Just like the majority of GR members I also received the spam email that went around today. This evening my PC has been playing up and doing very weeird things. Internet explorer keeps crashing getting error message saying that internet explorer is not responding and freezes. Am also having problems in starting internet explorer, takes me 3 attempts. PC freezes have no alternative option but to switch off. I have run a virus check and results all clear. I strongly suspect that this is the effect of spam email that we received. Also have received another spam email today re a home business opportunity for e-commerce marketing.Have blocked address. senders email: campaign-38 at marketingpros*net Anyone else received this email and having probs with their PC's. alot of use have had spam today using our GR board names to address us, all different senders. See 'My Email an user name' on the general board. |

Hi Lunar Yes thanks for that. I did see your thread, read it earlier on today and have been following through. So am aware of what is going on. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been having pc probs since then, if any more spam emails have been received. It could possibly be just me. . |

Thanks Gillian, least I know that there's a possability that it may not just be me. I didn't open either as I read all emails in pre-view mode. |

Leisele, I might be wrong but I understood that emails read in the preview pane WERE opened in order to view them. Most of the advice I have read says you should disable the preview pane. Anne |

maybe its time to change your e-mail address. I was getting a load of spam everyday, not from the gr one but I kept putting blocks on them but when I had reached 100 I changed my addy as by the time the mail system had filtered out all the junk it was taking to long for the good stuff to get through |
