A GEDCOM is just a file, to access the info on it you have to use a programme that can read a GEDCOM. You can send it onto someone else (for instance another rellie who is researching the same families) or you can add it to your own genealogy software programme (ie Family Tree Maker ((FTM)), Legacy, Family Historian etc). Without a programme you can only store the file you can't access it.If you don't yet have a programme you should consider getting one, just having your tree on here (or for example Ancestry tree builder) is too big a risk. If you have a programme you have control of the info independent of an internet connection and third party website hosting. A programme could be yours for less than £10, well worth it just for the backup facilities they offer. Glen |

Carol, When you export your tree, GR send you an email with your tree as a gedcom attachment. You can then save this onto your computer, load it into a family tree program or email it to someone else. What is it you are actually trying to achieve? |
