Thanks OC. I like the word free. I think he wants someone to say you are 80% this and 10% that. I had a google and its confusing, especially when they say European-indo - which is not much help to him. Thanks for the comments, Selena |

I think it is pretty easy to place his male ancestors geographically - but they won't be the indian ones, of course. Have a look and see if your nearest University (or any university, come to that) is doing a geographical DNA project - these are usually free. OC |

There was something to do with this on the 'Who Do You Think You Are' programme with Colin Jackson. The DNA test told him where his roots were (Something to do with the percentage of certain things found - I don't understand it myself). Kath. x |

My husbands parents were born in India (catholics). He has a Portugese sounding surname. His maternal Grandfather was English from Bath (have done tree to approx 183). His paternal great grandfather was English from Shropshire (have done tree). Others unknown. He is very dark skinned and thinks he is Heinz 57. Haven't been able to get anywhere on tree with India records. Anyone else been through a situation like this? Selnea |

My husband wants to know 'what' he is. (I can think of a few words). We are wondering if a DNA test would provide the answers to his family background. I think he wants an identity? Bear with me a minute........... |
