hi all i have found the marrage of my g/gfather walter l jones in the 3rd quart of 1919 vol1d page 2256 camberwell married to a lady called humphry why can i not see it if i turn it around to find the ladys name humphry in the 3rd quart 1919??? any help would be welcomed thanks steve

Despite what the GRO say, they do make mistakes and leave people off the index. My friend looked up her own marriage and her name wasn't there, but when she looked under her husband's name, the marriage was there, with her surname as the cross-ref. Perhaps this is what has happened in your case? It should be the same spelling of Humphrey. It wasn't there as an addition at the bottom of the page was it? Hi Yes it has 'Jones' as the other partner. Does not give initial's but is 1d 2256. (page 195) Regards Gail

If your looking on Ancestry, then the third quarter is not coming up for that name & quarter. So you have to manually navigate to it.

Start a search using Hum then put a * as a wildcard thus Hum*, this will bring up all records starting with Hum, you then need to look though them to find Humphry page by page. Keith (Gails OH)
