I am considering purchasing BVRI 2nd Edition from the LDS site but was wondering if the information on the 16 CD discs was the same as can be found on Family Search, or is the information on the discs not listed on Family Search or has not been included as yet? Any information would be gratefully received. Elizabeth

Some of the information seems to be on the IGI now but not all. The information on the BIVRI discs is patchy......you might find loads of entries for your family or none at all. Heather

I only have the 5 disc one and have not found many of my family members on it. I would not say it has been a lot of use to my research. Not sure about the edition you are talking about. Irene

I think you will find details of what is covered on the LDS family search site - try browsing in the library/catologue section. Jay

Hello, I think there is more on the CD's than online but as mentioned above the info is patchy. I found info for one of my families and got all excited about the 6 or 7 kids until I looked at the census and realised there were actually 11 kids. It is a good tool if your rellies are on it but just be aware that it is a bit hit and miss. Toni

A big thank you to each one of you for your replies. Yes I have had a look to see which counties are covered on the 16 CD discs and think I might go ahead and purchase as I have so many brick walls before 1841 census with ancestors living in many parts of England, and as I live aboard can only search over the internet Many thanks again for all your sound advice.
