Martock, Long Load, Somerset..where is the record

The registration district for Martock and Long Load is Yeovil, but the records office in Taunton holds the records. There is a website for Martock at www.genealogyhelp(dot)co(dot)uk - run by Duncan Weir and some of the parish records have been transcribed. I am sure a couple of locals are members, so you could try there for information. Diane Cole

Thanks Carol................I did try the LDS in Swansea..but the microfilm for the Martock church was smaller than the norm and very difficult to read............. it was just an idea that I could go over to Somerset early...the plane lands at 5.30 Cheers Colin

You could try the LDS in Wells Road, Bristol. I believe they have a lot of Somerset records. You will probably have to phone first and make an appointment for a viewer though

It is a lesser populated county than most so I suppose it could be Taunton. a bit too far from Bristol if it is
