Brilliant website about immigrants on The First Four Ships, The Charlotte Jane, The Randolph, The Sir George Seymour and The Cressy. Landed in N.Z in 1850..... Photos and pieces about most of the people who met for a reunion in 1900. http://www(.)firstfourships(.)co(.)nz/index(.)php

Thank you, Linda. Very interesting, even though my NZ ancestors arrived a little bit later (as early as 1856, though).

Immigration to New Zealand was well underway by 1850. My g-g-g-grandfather arrived on the Olympus in 1840 and was the very first lithographer in New Zealand. He has recently been referred to as the most important Australian lithographer of the pre-goldrush era. I had never heard of him until I started this lark two years ago.
