help needed finding a birth

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me find a birth on the grave stone it says DELIA O'NEILL 1889 - 1958. this was in leigh cemetery (lancashire ) i know she was born there but not sure who her parents wher thanks linda x

Was she born O'Neill or is that her married name?

Have looked on Ancestry for DELIA O'NEILL Nothing! Nowhere! Will have to wait n see if Lindy comes back. Gerri.

Only death in Leigh in age group is Bridget O'Neill age 69 (matches dates). She is in 1958 June quarter. So perhaps her real name was not Delia. Jim

Ask the cematary if they have any information regarding the burial, there records would be worth checking pat

thanks everyone for all your help i think that there might be a case of bridget and delia are the same person i have just checked and bridget dates are 1889 - 1958 and delias dates are 1889 - 1958 the family you had found was the correct one and as you can see the name is bridget the birth was right as well - bridget. but on the gravestone it says delia !! i have emailed the cemetery to see what they can tell me about the grave. what do you all think thanks again love linda x x

hi everyone sorry if my replies wernt instant last night but we had unexpected visitors. i am off to work now and wont be home till about 7pm tonight in answer to your questions bridget oneill was my grandfathers sister. - john oneill. i have manged to trace my grandfather and his brother patrick and i know that margaret oneill married thomas flannigan but have no idea what happenned to the rest of the family.after the 1901 census. thank you all so much for taking the time and effort to help me it really is appreciated. i have emailed the cemetery division for leigh and hopefully someone can give me some info on the gravestone. thanks again love linda x
