Apart from seeing him on the passenger list, there isn't any sign of him on any of the American censuses.

Barnard was born in Ireland.

hi thanks for that. i thought the place of origin related to the ship. i know most of them departed ireland then liverpool. if barnard's place of birth is ireland then it may not be the same person i am looking for. the name is unusual so i quessed he was mine as his father was also barnard. thanks edith

Hi Edith: I also have a married couple with a somewhat unusual name showing Ireland as their birthplace; only thing is, my couple were English. I don't know if I have the wrong people, or if there might be some reason why your Coxon and my people would have said they were Irish. (In my case, the names and ages were almost a perfect match, as well as when they arrived in North America.)

i have just looked at the 1841 and i can't make out if the father Barnard coxon is listed as ireland or scotland, it is difficult to make out. i know he married in yorkshire in 1800 and his first two children born there 1801 and 1803. then i have nothing until 1841 when he is in bishopwearmouth durham with son thomas b 1815 durham. one of his sons married in durham c 1823 i guess he could have went back to ireland where he had more children including barnard junior in 1810'ish.
