My findings of today were..... I found out that my Mothers middle name 'May' was prob chosen as her grandma Emma was born in the month of may! also... My Gran was Annie matilda Overs, so I think... Matilda, after HER gran and Annie was a baby that her gran had in a previous marriage and had sadly died aged 3. This was before Annie Matildas Mother was born and from a different father. The babys actual name was Ann maria but was known as Annie. I bet no one knew that! Matilda seemed to be very close to her daughter Emma and I'm sure she would have told Emma about the little girl she lost so young. Hence my Annie matilda, Emmas 1st born. ALL TOGETHER NOW!...aaahhhhhhhh Sorry to ramble on but I have no one left to share this with now.Well! no one that would be interested lol I think it's a shame we have stopped handing family names on in the family as they did in the past. Oh no! what have I said! that means I might have been Flippin Matilda!!! lol ;-) Hope you have all enjoyed your Saturday too. Gerri x |

Oower! thats spooky...Gerry May! lol It's great init when something however small falls into place? It's days like this I love this hobby.. I hope you left some flowers on the grave? I have a poem for such an occasion as yours...I'll dig it out for you and add it to here. The other gerri x Found it... Dear Ancestor Your tombstone stands among the rest Neglected and alone The name and date are chiselled out On polished marble stone It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn You did not know that I exist You died and I was born Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh and blood and bone Our blood contracts and beats a pulse Entirely not our own Dear Ancestor..the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so I wonder if you lived and loved I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot And come to visit you.
