Which son would you name after maternal grandfathe

In my husband's family, the eldest son was named after the paternal grandfather and the 2nd one after the maternal grandfather. Don't know what happened with husband and his brother though - not named after either grandfather! A pity really because I prefer the names Joseph and Thomas to their given names! LOL Sue
