I had vowed and declared back in June that I would not renew my genesreunited membership. This was mostly due to the complete lack of interest by management in contolling misuse of trees name grabbers etc. Anyway last week it was brought to my attention that someone has posted a tree with a very definate branch of my family that I have looked for for years!!. SO I bite the bullet and much as it irks me I rejoin only to have no reply to my contact. So Christine Harrison/Taylor who has William and Walter Hodges in your tree. If you see this please put me out of my misery Regards Tania Currie

Yep wouldnt that be the last laugh for them Honestly this is one branch I have always known existed but could never move past 1901 from so to have it waved so close is torture. The crazy thing is I have heaps of other family info so it will be good for both of us Regards Tania

New Year Report 21 Oct 2006 09:53

i joined because I saw my half brother was looking for family. I sent a pm and. . . . . NOTHING!! He hasn't answered and as its been a month now its not likely that he will. The number in the phone book is my mums old one and is out of date. He's probably not even checked the email account that he gave for this site. I managed to freeze my phone (literally - I dropped it in my freezer and didn't find it for two weeks!) so I lost his number. Fustrated is a mild description of how I feel. Hope your one is just on a long holiday and does eventually get back to you.

Following on from Old Crone's response - I got a message not long after I joined, and somehow overlooked it. Cleaning up my messages one day short of a year later...... Our family connection is a couple of hundred years ago but we seem to have a lot in common and are email-friends. So, don't give up - but maybe don't hold your breath either! Victoria

I initially had no reply to a message I sent to someone I firmly believed to be the wife of my deceased natural father's half-brother. I knew my father had a full brother who had been untraceable by every other means, so this lack of reply was tantalising. Then, out of the blue, 6 months later I had an excited email from the woman. Her husband was who I hoped he was and yes, they were able to put me in touch with my full-uncle. Whoopee! Turned out her computer had died and when she eventually realised she could use the library's internet connection, there was my email waiting for her. So never give up hope! Tracey

Tania Some of the messages sent in recent weeks have been received blank at the other end (I got one). You could try sending the same message again and explain that you're resending because of this. April
