I have just exported GR tree to pc and a message has popped up whilst trying to view attachment. Outlook Express has removed access to the following UNSAFE attachment: Hammond family tree.ged. What do I do now in trying to make a backup of my tree? Does this now mean that GR gedcom files with our trees are riddled with viruses due to the many errors and bugs floating on this site. Can someone help me please I am desperate to back up my tree before it's too late! I'm truely not a happy bunny!!!

In Outlook Express go to Tools, Options, Security Tab and take the tick out of the box that says 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened.' Ron www*genealogyprinters*com

It's your OE settings. In OE, do Tools, Options, Security and under Virus Protection remove the tick from 'do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'. Click Apply, then Close. Download the email, save the attachement somewhere then go back into Tools & put your setting back the way they were.

Thanks Ron & Jools. Not being technically minded I didn't know that. I'm going to give that a try and hopefully get my tree backed up. Liesele
