Margaret, The 'Back to page One' feature is probably the most annoying problem for many of us. The bugs in the new features will be corrected, I'm sure It's a shame there are too many of them.

hi all yes I have found same problem shared tree brings you the contacts page - and with 31 pages of them to trawl through trying to find who you want it is an absolute nightmare - particularly with female contacts who are listed on the contacts differently from the message link. As anybody also realised that if you are on the search page and say looking at names on page 29 and click on a name to look at the results of recently added names, when you click on the back button it takes you back to page 1 ! the only way to overcome this is to open the name in a new window, then when you close it - you are back on the page you were on and can go to next name - just remember to open in New Window - otherwise you are back to square one! showed my son this - nightmare (he is a computer programmer) and his comments on the programming are not repeatable! Jen No I didn't see a go lol, I think I've sussed it though! By going into someones tree and finding the other people tree link, at least you get to know what their name is, I mean a ladies name comes up in messages as one name, while this link gives their married name or maiden name, whichever way round it is! Then at least in your contacts you know how many pages to bypass till you find them, clever ay!! Maybe GR will give me a job now I've learned how to confuse people totally! Carole xx

Hi Jenny, I think part of the problem was, that on the New Tree there was no 'GO' button!! At least not yesterday, when I was trying to make sense or reason of it. I have just checked, however, and today there is a 'GO' button! Debbie

Hi Carole, Yesterday I e-mailed Genes Supoort about this 'problem'. Today I received a reply, bascially telling me, this isn't a 'problem' - this is now, how it is meant to work!!!! Go figure! This is a copy of the relevant bit of their e-mail: 'Thanks for your email. Clicking on 'shared trees' will now take you to the My Contacts page. Along the list of contacts names you will see it says 'Tree permissions' and just below that 'can you see their tree?'. If the other member has allowed you to view their tree, you will see it says ' yes view' followed by a small tree icon. Click on this to view the other member's tree. If they have not yet allowed you to view their tree you will see it says 'no ask them'. If you click on this you can send them another email to ask them if you can view their tree. A copy of this email will be in your sent items folder.' No explanaition as to 'why' this has been done, just a lengthy explanation on Tree Permissions!? I think after 3yrs, I understand how Tree Permissions work! What a long winded perlarva (sp?) to get the same result as simply clicking on Shared Trees! Debbie

Jenny I just tried that but nothing happened! I went into someones tree, found the shared trees box, clicked on the name I wanted and nothing changed. I wonder why the names aren't in surname alphabetical order? Seems a bit strange to list them by christian name. Carole xx

I was one of the people who asked for shared trees to be modified in the 'wish list' survey. When you have more than a handful of names it was impossible to use as there was no way of navigating or finding the name you want. Ironically using 'my contacts' is only marginally better but at least you can check your messages to see if you have the person yo are looking for.

hi Carol just click on the first tree in the contacts list then when you are into their tree click the drop down box at the top to find the persons tree you want. Jenny

Sorry if this has already been asked. When I click on Shared Trees my list of contacts comes up. Does that mean we have to trawl through all our contacts to see if we have access to their tree? Before they all came up in a list and I just scrolled down to who I wanted. Now there are pages and pages to trawl through. Hope this makes sense. Carole xx
