Confused over dates

Just received a marriage certificate for my great grandmother Edith Annie Griffith on 1st Apr 1888 which states her age as being 20 and her father John Griffith (Stone mason). I then checked the familysearch site and found the birth of Edith Annie Griffiths 11-10-1868 father John mother Mary Ann in Swansea, which fits with the information I had. I thought to order the birth certificate but neither on the ancestry site or freebmd is there a birth of an Edith Griffith(s) in Swansea. The only Edith Annie Griffith(s) I can find are both in London for the following year (Bromley and Edmonton both Dec 1869). On the 1881 census I found what I think might be the family Mother Mary Ann Edith age 11 Alfred J age 17 (Mason) Mary E age 14 (Alfred John and Mary Ellen Griffith were the witnesses on the marriage certificate - the father was deceased by 1888). Is there any gaps in the official records? Any suggestions to help pinpoint her?

Thanks for your help - I couldn't find it on ancestry. I just now have a problem with the 1881 census. The names seem to match but the dates and place of birth are wrong (born Tottenham age 11). Edith's father was a Stone Mason which seems to fit with Alfred on the census being a Mason.

I find that dates are often wrong (or approximate) in the various censii. You have to look for other corroborating information such as place of birth, family memberrs, etc.
