I have the details for a marriage cert that I want to order for Walter Joseph Bawden 1st quarter 1889 Newport mon 11a 286a would that be right because I cant see any others with a letter at the end?. Thanks. Jenny

Hi Jenny Just checked and it definately says 11a 286a, I wonder if this was an ammendment to the records, on FreeBMD it shows only three people and they all have the same ref with the a on the end. I would order the cert and see. Keith

First of all Free BMD and Ancestry use the same index, the only difference that they use a different search engine. So once you get a hit you will always get the same information returned. Looking at Free BMD and then loading the image of the register page, it is indeed shown with an 'a' against it, so go for it. It is likely that it is an additional page added after the original register was written up.

hi Rose I have Ada as his wife because I found them on the census but I cant find a birth for her so I want her fathers name. Jenny she was born c1862 in Dunmow Essex acording to the census

I was looking at that Rose but I wasn't sure and I couldn't find a death for a George Woodley, I wondered if that was why she married a man from islington in wales and had a family then moved back to Edmonton.
