I have a picture of my late dad when he was in the army, I knew he was in the Middlesex Regiment, but I don't know which Battallion. However, I have just scanned his picture and was wondering how I can put it on here to see if anyone would be able to make out if there are any clues as to which Battallion he was in. I had written to Middlesex Regiment, but a year, almost, on I've heard nothing. Thanks:-)

Hi Jenny, I'm afraid there is no way to add a photo to the message boards, the only way for someone to check it would be if you were to e-mail it to them direct to check for you. Keith

Actually, there is a way to show anyone a photograph that's in your tree. But it - surprise! - requires a work-around. Once it's uploaded, look at it in the photos tab for the relative. Then right-click and open the picture in a new window. You'll see an address which acts as a direct link for the image - something like http://www.genesreunited(.)co(.)uk/picstore/049/957.jpg Anyone can paste a URL with this format into their browser and browse photographs (pick new numbers to see other pictures), but there is no way to find out whose tree they're from, fortunately.

I had actually forgoten that Peter, but it does rely on the photo having been uploaded to the tree, and does not work just as a way to post direct to thread, which I think was was Jenny meant. Keith

Thanks Keith, You're right, all I really wanted to do was add the photo to the message board, but if someone is able to help via e-mail then I'll try to send them my addy. Thanks for the advice everyone:) PATRICIA - I tried to e-mail my addy to you as requested, but it came back there was an error. Would you mind emailing me via GR and I will try again:-) Thanks
