Irish Marriage where do I start? Ideas Please

Hi all, just received my gt gt grandfathers Birth certificate confirming his mother's maiden name. My problem is that his parents were born in Ireland. Unfortunately the 1841 & 1851 Census just states Ireland. I've no idea where to start as this is the first link to Ireland. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance, Lou |

Hi Jay, I think I want to say thanks! Uhmm??!! But at least there is confort in the knowledge that others are in the same boat. It's so sad to realise I might never be able to trace them. But taking comfort in the knowledge I could have spent ages on them and got no further, and now I can focus on another side of the family - am feeling better now. thanks Lou |

Hi Eleanor, I searched for them and children but I can't find them on 1861, but haven't tried 1871 so will give that a go. I've tried searching under different spellings because of accent, with no luck, but I will give google a go, Thanks again, Lou |
