if you go to new tree you can see you shared trees there the only good thing is they are now in alphabetical order by christian name not by surname Jeanette

The thing I really hate is that when I click on 'Shared Trees', instead of just getting a list of all the people I have shared trees with, I now have 7 PAGES of names of just about all the various people I have ever messaged on Genes (mostly through helping them with their research on the forums so not to do with my tree at all). What a total mess it is now!

Really strange that the message from GR should mention adobe/macromediaflash. Some weeks ago I was getting a pop-up telling me to load it - it only happened on this site. Certainly not happy that they suggest altering security settings. Maureen

I agree it is not good enough - and trying to get it to work now. I assume this will let me access shared trees rather then it coming up with my contacts list and also when adding new info to my tree it will now save it!!!!!! janey

Thanks for your email If you click on Family Tree your tree will open in a new window. You must make sure you allow pop-ups. You also need the latest version of Macromedia flash. This can be dowloaded from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW If you still have problems viewing your tree then we do suggest you temporarily disable your anti-virus/internet security. Hopefully this will then work for you. The first view you see will be of the tree builder immediate family page. This is where you can add names. At the top of the page you will see the option to 'change view'. We offer three other views - full tree, ancestors and descendants. Select the view you wish to see. To search for a relation in your tree select 'search relations' at the top of the page. You can then enter the name of the relation you wish to view. In the search results click on the name and you will be taken to their place in your tree. You can also do this when viewing other member's trees too. You can click on any name in your tree and view the details for each relation in full. It is not possible to make any changes to your tree on the treeviewer page. You can only do this on the tree builder page. You can view your tree as large or small as you wish. Just below the tree navigator you will see a + and -. Move the slider up and down this to change the size of the tree. The 'shared trees' link will now take you directly to your list of contacts where you can see at a glance who has given you access to their tree and who hasn't. You can also view another member's tree from the My Family Tree page. In the top right hand corner you will see it says 'other member's trees' and below that a drop down box with a list of all the other trees you can view. Click on the name you want to view and then press go. To search for a relation in another member's tree select 'search relations' at the top of the page. You can then enter the name of the relation you wish to view. In the search results click on the name and you will be taken to their place in the tree. If you choose to view the results for the whole site, this will take you to our main search results page. You must be upgraded to view another member's tree. I hope this helps.
