On a 1938 Welsh wedding cert. it states the name of the groom's father and occupation. I thought this man had died many years previously, so had he been dead would they have put 'deceased' on the cert. It doesn't say so on this cert. Thanks for any help in advance, Jill |

English and Welsh certificates are the same. I have certificates where the father is not described as deceased when he is. Here is a good site for you to bookmark regarding the information on BMD certificates http://home.clara(.)net/dixons/Certificates/marriages.htm remove brackets |

Thanks Willow, I went and had a look, seems they didn't always put if the father was dead or not. luck of the draw, isn't always the way with this genealogy addiction, lol. Thanks for your help. cheers Jill. |
