how do you get marriages before 1837 up? i know the actual date but need info from marriage cert. can we not get this on here?

Catherine there were no marriage certificates before 1837 when civil registration began. You have to find the marriage in Parish Records, have you tried the family search site? Georgina.

As Georgina says, there were no marriage certificates prior to Q3 1837. If you find the marriage in the parish records, the only info you will get is name of bride and groom, possibly the groom's occupation and marital status, whether they were of the parish or not and the witnesses. No fathers details were recorded, unless you are extremely lucky. Sam x
